Natura 2000 risk assessment (2016)

Client: ASFINAG Bau Management GmbH Vienna

In the Lower Rhine Valley in Vorarlberg several variants of a new motorway were discussed in order to reduce the burden of existing transit traffic in this region. The project was about finding project variants where the risk of possible nature conservation conflicts with Natura 2000 areas and species protection under EU law is kept as low as possible. The procedural risk was examined in detail for two variants.
