Hotspot concept for the Bavarian Alpine foothills rivers (2017)

Client: WWF Germany

As part of this project Suske consulting developed long-term nature conservation goals and implementation strategies for the rivers Lech, Ammer, Isar and Loisach. The framework for this was the large hotspot project "Alpine river landscapes - living diversity from Ammersee to Zugspitze", which was committed to the development and preservation of these rivers. The recording of the status quo, conflicts and potential was based on research, interviews and workshops with the relevant actors. Clarity was created about the current priorities and long-term goals for the Lech, Ammer, Isar and Loisach in a good communication framework with those affected and local and regional experts. Building on this, concrete implementation options were developed in coordination with various interest groups which had a real chance of being realized thanks to the broad involvement of all relevant groups. As part of a large dialogue event in autumn 2016, a participation opportunity was created for the specialist audience and the interested public. The results and project ideas including implementation suggestions were compiled in a report and a folder and passed on.
