The two prominent public interests of "nature conservation" and "climate protection" are becoming more and more important year after year for various reasons. Nature conservation is experiencing this increasing importance due to the still advancing and worrying loss of biodiversity in almost all landscape areas, while climate protection is taking on a completely new, necessary dimension for society due to the dramatic development of climate change. Both public interests often exist side by side with opposing goals in the landscape or on potential development areas of climate strategy. In development plans or procedures the area of interest that is better positioned in the specific case wins.
The problems of this topic area were comprehensively and completely mapped out on the basis of numerous individual discussions, initial ideas for possible solutions were outlined and these were discussed in a cross-departmental meeting.
