Preserving and developing the cultural landscape in the Styrian Eisenwurzen Nature and Geopark - adapted to local climate changes - is the basis of the nature park and also an important sub-goal of the Austrian biodiversity strategy and Styrian nature conservation law. This goal can only be achieved with the local population. For the sustainable protection of these valuable, cultivated areas, medium to long-term functioning structures are required with the help of which these areas can be maintained and used. A climate-fit landscape conservation fund can provide this structure. The aim of this "Climate-fit landscape conservation" project was to create the basis for such a landscape conservation fund and to involve all relevant regional actors at an early stage. The basis for this was research and analysis of best practice examples on the topics of landscape conservation funds and meadows with fruit trees conservation, as well as a data collection of possible approaches for the Styrian Eisenwurzen.
