Client: Austrian Federal Forests
Based on the project "Biodiversity and multifunctional management in the forest (BIMUWA)", the Austrian Federal Forests are developing a voluntary, concrete concept for protecting biodiversity in the forest which takes into account particularly regionally endangered red list species and habitats. A new, innovative approach has been developed for protecting biodiversity in the forest using a scientifically based target species concept that has been tested for practical suitability. This target species concept enables efficient implementation of nature conservation measures through biodiversity models with a regional approach. Multifunctional, sustainable forest management is the focus here. We will make these results available to a wider public in the coming months through national and regional media work.
